Jeopardy meets the Three Stooges in the comedy game show that’s one part general knowledge, two parts part physical mayhem, and three parts just plain wacky. If you want an interactive experience completely appropriate for everyone, where the guests and audience are the stars of the show, this is it!
The Show
An incredible team of professional comedy writers, including those from NBC's Seinfeld and producer of the Fox show Comic Strip Live, created this new, comedy game show, without the wimpy buzzers. That's right – NO BUZZERS! Contestants put on hard hats and actually BONK their head to buzz in! And don't expect normal trivia questions from our team of writers! Trick questions, stunts, sing-alongs, and even audience dances ensue until someone is crowned BONK Champion and receives all the fanfare that comes along with it.
The Game
BONK The Comedy Game Show begins with a random drawing to select three contestants from the audience who come up on stage and put on helmets and hold soft foam mallets. The helmets are rigged with sensors and microphones that buzz in when the helmet is hit. In order to “BONK” in and answer a question, the contestant must BONK themselves on the head with the mallet.
The Questions
In keeping with the theme of the game, the questions are sometimes challenging, often tricky and always humorous. They range from intriguing (”Can a pig get sunburned?”), to silly (“Sing a song you learned in grade school”), and may be smart (“Is this a rhetorical question? No!”) or tricky for Adult Shows..(“When you lose a tooth, who gives you money?” “The Tooth Fairy? No, usually your Mom and Dad.”).
The Rounds
The typical game is broken into 3 games of 2 rounds. Contestants score points for a correct answer, and lose points for an incorrect answer. The questions are relatively simple so speed matters, but the occasional trick question gets tossed in as the BONK master always stays one step ahead and will fool your contestants to the delight of the audience! The contestants have to stay on their game because at anytime if a Bonus BONK come up the lowest scorer could be replaced by anyone in the audience!
When a contestant reaches 10 points, the round ends and the low scorer is eliminated. The remaining two contestants face off in the “Back BONK” round. Here the questions get tougher and contestants not only bonk themselves, but also their opponent. The winner of the “Back BONK” round is a finalist and is given the opportunity to take the BONK Challenge for a chance to win prizes from sponsors, partners, your company or school and other comedy based prizes.
Between games, BONK The Comedy Game Show is interspersed with hilarious commercial parodies, cheesy consolation prizes and great audience participation, and then three new contestants repeat the process during the second and third games, producing three finalists.
The Winners
The three finalists compete in a single final round known as the “BONK Bash.” This is a free for all where all three contestants may BONK themselves or any of the others in a race to 10 points to determine the champion, who is then crowned with the mirrored BONK disco helmet and wins the grand prize.
